Steinberg Podiatry has been dedicated to health care related to the foot, ankle, and leg since 1931.
The practice began with Dr. Marvin D. Steinberg, who developed one of the first hospital-based residency training programs for podiatric medicine. Known as the “father of modern podiatric medicine”, Marvin practiced for over fifty years, first in New York and later in Florida. During this time he pioneered many of the treatments, medicines, and instruments that are still in use today by podiatrists the world over.
In 1962, Dr Marvin’s son, Dr. Lloyd B. Steinberg, brought the practice to Florida, becoming Ocala’s first podiatric surgeon. Respected for his work in the field of medicine as well as the community, Dr. Lloyd served as president of the Ocala Runners Club and chairman of the Sports and Recreation Department of the Chamber of Commerce. Under his direction, these two organizations initiated both the jogging/walking trails at Ocala’s Jervey Gantt Park and the city’s annual Reindeer run. A strong health and fitness advocate, Dr. Lloyd also competed in the New York City Marathon.
With the practice now in its third generation, Dr. Paul S. Steinberg continues the heritage of caring instilled by his grandfather so long ago. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery as well as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. A member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and past president of the North Central Florida Podiatric Medical Association. To provide you with the optimum in care, Dr. Paul maintains staff privileges at Ocala Regional Medical Center, Munroe Regional Medical Center, West Marion Hospital and The Surgery Center of Ocala.
